Musync®: You Need Better Music!

Listen To The Track

Problem

Life is not always ideal. In a perfect world, the soundtrack is created prior to animation. But sometimes the reality turns out differently. When a Creative Director from Google came to us for help, he admitted that he had already tried three other music designers without success. The problem was that every frame of the animation was already set in stone. While a composer can spot the animation and create a custom score, that solution was too expensive. This project needed to license a pre-existing track that would sound like it had been custom-made for this animation.

Solution

To be a great music librarian, one has to have an extraordinary musical memory. To develop that expertise requires years of experience and more than a little musical talent. Combine that with taste and judgement and in less then four hours, we were able to deliver 15 tracks that were a possible match. From those, we were able to find one that highlighted perfectly the visual moments that the Creative Director needed the music to accent. The final selection, “Cat-Silver” by David Last, was a perfect match. It felt like it had been made for the animation and delivered just the right feel at a small fraction of the cost of a custom score.
