Musync®: You Need Better Music!

About the Company

Musync is a catalog of real music with real librarians to help you find what you need. The catalog consists of 30,377 tracks of real pre-cleared music from established indie labels worldwide.

Our experienced librarians know the catalog and will help you find what you need in record time. They know it because they built it. They filter the best music from 100s of tracks every week. Then they secure the rights; so every track is pre-cleared and ready to go.

If they can’t find what you need in the catalog, we can also search outside it, or arrange for composed music.

Phoebe Meharg is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley where she majored in mass communications.

She joined the team at Musync last year and is in training to be a music supervisor or, as we like to say, Music Genius.

Phoebe has been passionate about music for many years. Borderline obsessed, really. Her favorite genres include early 70’s punk, hip-hop, indie rock, and twee pop. Whether talking about it, listening to it, researching it, reading about it, or buying it, there is not a lot of time that goes by when she is not actively engaged with music in one form or another.

In the future, Phoebe hopes to fuse her love of music with her love of films and become a full-fledged music supervisor for Musync. Her ultimate goal is to expose as many people as possible to the music that she loves and to the bands and artists that she thinks need and deserve attention.

Jamie Evangelista

Song Scribe

Jamie Evangelista's Portrait

From an early age, music has been an integral part of Jamie Evangelista’s life.

As a child, she was exposed to a wide range of music. Her initial curiosity and interest developed through her father’s extensive CD collection which had some of almost everything, from The Beatles to Black Sabbath, from The Carpenters to Neil Young. Heck, it even had singles from Rick Astley. It was also in her formative years that she dabbled in ballet lessons, hula-dancing, singing in a children’s choir, and guitar lessons. At all of these, she failed miserably.

Jamie had an epiphany and figured out that performance wasn’t her thing, but she was still determined to incorporate music into her life. She turned her musical passion into listening to it non-stop, attending live shows on a monthly basis, and writing about it in her weblog.

Currently, Jamie is a student at San Francisco State, majoring in English Literature. She joined Musync as a Song Scribe earlier this year and has learned quite a lot ever since. Eventually, Jamie hopes to translate her love of music, movies, and pop culture into a career helping deserving artists gain exposure and success.

Frankii Elliott

Music Guru

Frankii Elliott's Portrait

Frankii comes to us with years of experience working in A&R, A&R Soundtracks, Music Supervision and music replacement.

He spent 7 years at Capitol records starting as a temp and working his way up to National Marketing and Promotional Director in less then a years time but his big break came when he got into feature film and television as he loved the idea of working with artists outside the realm of his label and Frankii has the gift to hear a piece of music and instantly picture a scene in his mind. His grandmother sang with the Boston Symphony and was asked by Guy Lumbardo to tour with him, as well, on his mothers side, his grandfather hand made violins as well as painted on canvas.

“It’s in the blood man, you can run from it, but the perfect cue at the right time can have the audience on the edge of their seats or crying like babies.” He continues: “Music can make or break a film and I’ve personally witnessed films rise from the dead with great music.”

Frankii has a long track record for working with some of the best Music Supervisors in the business before becoming one himself at Groove Addicts where he turned a jingle and branding house into a trailer, TV, Feature Film music placement as their In House Music Supervisor, “being the eyes and ears of knowing what the producer wants is important, knowing what he likes, dislikes are all important, but sometimes you have to inject your own direction and taste and meld it with them, as a Music Supervisor, it’s part of your job to make sure the right piece of music is in the right place and sometimes a producer may not know that, being that vehicle that bridges your ideas with the producers for the film or show to make it that much better, is what matters at the end of the day.”

Frankii also brings with him numerous forward thinking ideas and has worked on numerous feature films, television shows, as well as with music software developers such as Sony, Tascam, Ultimate Sound Banks Sibelius, to name a few and has brought the artist and technology together with Sample CD releases and has more projects lined up to help todays up and coming composers. He also has a strong passion for guitars and tube amplifiers, he says “..the American 1960 Coke Bottle 6L6 tubes are the best tubes ever made, in the right amplifier, it can have the sound of nature or the rampage of hell.”

We look forward to using his Marketing and Promotional ideas and know that Frankii is going to have great success working with us. He presently is a demo check listener for Demo Check, he has worked as a listener for Taxi Music Services and helped break Jon Secada and Selena into the American marketplace, and he hasn’t even scratched the surface yet.
